The PCA9685 16-Channel 12-bit PWM Servo Driver Module is a versatile I2C-based controller designed to control multiple servo motors, LEDs, and other PWM devices using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, and other compatible microcontrollers. It provides 16 independent PWM channels with 12-bit resolution (4096 steps), allowing smooth and precise control of servo position, LED brightness, and other PWM applications.
Using the I2C communication interface, the PCA9685 requires only two communication lines (SDA and SCL) from the microcontroller, making it an excellent solution when you need to control many servos or PWM outputs while saving GPIO pins.
The module is especially useful for robotics, robotic arms, humanoid robots, RC projects, automation systems, LED control, and DIY electronics projects. Multiple PCA9685 boards can also be connected on the same I2C bus using different addresses, allowing a large number of PWM channels to be controlled from a single controller.
