The Waveshare Industrial USB TO RS485 Bidirectional Converter (USB TO RS485 B) is a reliable industrial-grade communication converter designed to connect a computer or other USB host to RS485 devices and networks. It uses the original CH343G USB-to-serial conversion chip and supports fast, stable, bidirectional USB-to-RS485 communication. The module also incorporates multiple protection circuits, including TVS protection, ESD protection, resettable fuse, protection diodes, and surge/lightning protection, making it suitable for demanding industrial and embedded applications.

With a USB-A interface, screw-terminal RS485 connection and automatic hardware data-direction control, the converter is convenient for industrial automation, Modbus communication, PLC systems, instrumentation, smart devices, and serial debugging. RS485 communication can reach approximately 1200 meters at low baud rates, while supporting point-to-multipoint communication of up to 32 nodes.
